When you do go to a restaurant, you'll find that most meals are served with kim-ch'i, (kimch'i) . The most popular form of kim-ch'i is made from pickled chinese cabbage. It's quite spicy, and, for many non-Koreans, is definitely an acquired taste.

It is, however, possible to get some meals that aren't spicy. The picture at the left is of a restaurant that serves kim-bap
(kimbap)
which is rice and other ingredients (beef, vegetables, etc.) rolled in seaweed. The English menu is shown at left also.

On the next page is a sampling of restaurant signs around Seoul.
