LinuxTage
I went out to LinuxTage (Linux Days) at the Technical University of Graz today. Free admission to the conference. I was still not feeling great, so I only stayed for an hour or two.
An organization that does cryptography (not cryptocurrency) events had these pieces of paper that people could take. The other side gives the URL for the organization and their monthly meeting time and place.
- Would you like your private data on a poster at every bus stop?
- Your mobile phone isn’t password protected?
- Your SMS-messages are as private as billboards on the Autobahn.
- How do you know we can’t read your private E-mails?
- Which would be worse to leave in a taxi: your unlocked smart phone or your wallet?
- Do you really accept these terms and conditions?
- Digital security is possible.
- The same password for everything?
- Are you keeping your private data private?
Finally, this sign at a bus stop, which sort of surprised me, as in the US, the brand name Schlumberger (pronounced shlum-burr-zháy) is associated with electronic equipment.
