Das Kanu des Manitu

At one point in the movie, they have found the canoe and now must retrieve it. Mary translates the instructions written on the wall (in French) to say that only a genuine Apache can retrieve the canoe.

At this point, Abahachi reveals that he is not a genuine Apache; his parents were killed in the West, and he and his brother were adopted by the tribe.

Then Mary looks at the instructions again, and says, “No, that’s the wrong translation. It says only a true Apache can retrieve the canoe.” Ranger and Mary convince Abahachi that he has followed the ways of the Apache and therefore he is a true Apache, and the action continues from there.

Near the very end of the movie, Abahachi goes back to his Apache tribe and they welcome him back. The Apaches in this scene speak in the Apache language, with German subtitles. (In the end credits, there is a credit for the Apache language consultant.)

So yes, they were able to handle the issue very well.
