For times within the latter half of the hour, you use a construction similar to the English “ten minutes ’til eight,” except you give the hour first, then the word , then the minutes until the hour. Thus:

7:35
7:45
7:50

Although is technically the correct usage, you can use in all cases, especially when reading exact minutes from a digital clock.
