Salzburg–Dec. 2, 2025
First, some pictures taken from the area near the hotel where I was staying:
I think this guy is a relative of the man at Babe’s Mufflers in San José.
I made my way to the Altstadt (old town) area and took some pictures there.
I then went uphill to Kapuzinerberg to see the Capuchin monastery at the top.
This is a monument to Stefan Zweig.
Back down at ground level. Here are some paintings on a building where they sell women’s dresses. (The text rhymes in German: )
More pictures from the city...
Museum der Moderne
There are two buildings for the Museum der Moderne; one is at ground level, the other on top of Mönchsberg. The one at ground level is the one I visited first.
I was a bit disappointed by how small the museum was. Then the people at the ticket counter told me that the larger one was up on top of Mönchsberg, so I was on my way uphill again...
And now, some pictures from the larger museum.
Rob Voerman
The highlight of the museum, for me, was the exhibit of Rob Voerman’s work. A lot of his work uses cardboard.
Museum der Moderne (continued)
And some photos from the other installations.
Back in the City
These are pretty much in chronological order.
Woman in the Rock
This is another work by Stephan Balkenhol; the statue is 135 cm (4 foot 5 in) tall.
